Cabalonga was established to care and conserve Puerto Cayo biodiversity, offering eco-tourism with a minimum environmental impact together with a pleasant outdoor experience. Our concept allows our visitors to admire the exuberant beauty of the regional ecosystem and Manabí culture.
The name Cabalonga is also tightly linked to Ecuadorian cultural and natural heritage: the word "cabalonga" comes from a native plant, which seeds are used for making crafts.
All started with Diego’s memorable vacations during his childhood. His adventurous soul let him explore the little-known but beautiful Puerto Cayo nature. His love for the biodiversity perfectly associated with María Elena’s passion for Eco touristic adventures.
It is how Cabalonga started up, as an innovative and sustainable concept of glamping and eco-tourism in Ecuador’s main protected areas.
